Club Rides
The Tornado Road Cycling Club run several group rides throughout the year. We run Sunday group rides, mainly starting from Waitrose in Christchurch, in the summer months these rides start from 08:00, but come autumn and winter, these start from 08:30 unless stated otherwise. To ensure you know when and where to meet. We use regular routes, occasionally mixing them up, although one of our favorites is the Beaulieu ride. The autumn and winter rides run at around 16 to 17 mph average and spring/summer increase to between 17 and 20 mph. In addition to the weekend rides we also run evening rides during the spring and summer months, with the meeting points varying between Poole and Christchurch. Evening rides in the autumn/winter are classified as night rides and are run on a more varying timetable. For longer routes up to 100 miles we run our feature rides, where we will cycle to different locations such as Cerne Abbas, Stonehenge, Isle of Wight and more. Anyone is welcome to join us on these rides, we take in a cafe stop approximately halfway around the route, for refreshments and socialising. All of our ride details can be found on our Tornado Community Facebook page.
