Tornado Fast Crew / Winter Spinners

We enjoy some great laughs and plenty of banter on the rides and always enjoy putting the hammer down from time to time. The rides average 16 to 17mph in the winter, advertised as Winter Spinners and anywhere from 17 to 20 mph in the summer, depending on what route we take. We predominantly ride on a Sunday, although occasionally we do switch to a Saturday.

We take in a café stop, which normally consists of scrambled egg on toast or toasted tea cakes, with a nice cuppa tea or coffee, depending on your preference.

On average we cover 60 to 70 miles and also take on a few 100 milers throughout the spring and summer. Winter miles drop to approximately 45-50 miles.

We love to tackle the Purbecks on a regular basis, but we also enjoy the fast runs through the New Forest to Beaulieu. We have several other routes that see us heading out to places such as Fordingbridge and Shaftesbury.

You can catch details of our rides via the Tornado Community Facebook page. Several of our newest members have joined the club after just one ride with us, having enjoyed the ride and the banter so much. So please feel free to join us and experience our hospitality and the mutual love of cycling.

Tornado Inbetweeners

The inbetweeners sit nicely between our fastest group and our slowest group. Rides generally average 16 mph and cover anywhere from 40 to 80 miles, with occasional 100 miler rides in the summer.

There are regular evening rides in the summer months and weekend rides in the winter. The inbetweeners regularly start from the Poole area, with some rides venturing to the New Forest or out to Fordingbridge and Shaftesbury.

As with all our group rides, the emphasis is on having fun and enjoying the ride.

Tornado Ride Ethics

Across all our rides we have the same ethic, we start and finish together and no one gets left behind. If anyone gets a mechanical we all stop and help or wait. Anyone is welcome to join in on our rides, just select which one is suitable for you.
